What is "Finding and Keeping a Job"?

"Finding and Keeping a Job" is an NDIS Capacity Building category that funds employment-related supports. It covers job readiness training, job search assistance, resume and interview preparation, placement, and ongoing post-placement support.

At Employment Unlocked, we start with what you're interested in and work outward from there. It takes longer, but people stay in jobs they chose.

No NDIS plan? We also accept Inclusive Employment Australia referrals and offer fee-for-service options. Same team, same approach.

Who Is This For?

  • People referred through Inclusive Employment Australia
  • NDIS participants with employment goals
  • School leavers entering the workforce
  • People returning to work after time away
  • Anyone wanting a job that fits their interests
  • Self-funded or fee-for-service clients

Employment Support, Straight From the NDIS

The details people search for, drawn from how the NDIS and the wider system fund help to find and keep a job.

Which part of your plan pays

Employment help sits in the Capacity Building budget under the "Finding and Keeping a Job" support category. The NDIS describes capacity building supports as those that "build your skills to do things for yourself and work towards your goals," and finding and keeping a job is one of those goals.

School leaver and non-NDIS routes

If you are finishing school, School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) is the Capacity Building support built for that transition. Inclusive Employment Australia is a separate, Australian Government funded program you can use with or without an NDIS plan. If neither applies, employment support is available fee-for-service.

A support coordinator can help you check what fits your situation.

What a provider can charge

The most a provider can charge is capped by the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, published by the National Disability Insurance Agency and updated each financial year. The current 2025-26 arrangements took effect on 24 November 2025. We price to that document and confirm your cost in writing before support starts. Cost, Eligibility & How It Works

Straight answers to the questions most people ask before getting in touch.

What it costs

Employment support is priced to the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits under Capacity Building - Finding and Keeping a Job. What you pay depends on the support type and when the session runs.

Fee-for-service is also available, and we take referrals from Inclusive Employment Australia providers. We confirm the cost with you in writing before anything starts.

NDIS or Inclusive Employment Australia - which applies?

If your NDIS plan includes Finding and Keeping a Job (or School Leaver Employment Supports), that funds working with us directly. Inclusive Employment Australia is a separate, government-funded program you may qualify for with or without NDIS. Its providers can refer you to us.

Not sure which is you? Tell us your situation and we'll point you to the right one.
